SolarMax 2

AI is actually difficult to beat, thats a first for me. For that reason I actually enjoy playing it, if I lose 50 times and finally win its a better feeling than breezing through a game like you normally would. If you like a challenging strategy game Id recommend it. If your unsure you can always play it online first.

Made For iPhone

These are the types of games that work best on the iPhone. Simple controls, but lots of skill can be obtained. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Surprisingly deep

At first I thought this was just a Galcon clone. In fact, there are lots of interesting twists and scenarios. Simple to play, but its actually pretty rich and complex!

More than a simple game.

This app is amazing. Fantastic graphics and its simple to play but more challenging as you move on up.

I wish there were more levels.

Surprisingly deep game. Ignore the people who say the AI is too hard. The AI is not really that smart, you just need to figure out some tactics to beat the levels that start you with a disadvantage.

Wonderful

Such a wonderfully fun game! Wish there were more levels.

Great game

Awesome game. Very challenging. Would love more levels/sequel/solarmax 1 on the App Store. Would definitely buy all of the above.

Addicting

Very addictive game. Puzzle style space conquering game. The graphics are very nice for the style and scale of the game. Easy to pickup and play around. Great scale that ramps up difficultly well.

One of the best game I have ever played, but has so much potential.

I have been following you since solar max 1. I absolutely loved solar max 1. I loved its simplicity, yet the complexity that could emerge from said simplicity. Solar max 2, only impressed me even more. But there is one thing I hoped for ever since I played solar max 1. That thing, was multiplayer. I dont think you realize truly how much potential this game has. What if you made a another game like this, but it was three dimensional, and just as beautiful. Similar to the aesthetic beauty of EvE Online. And when you first start off, your are one tiny metallic super intelligent dust particle. But this dust particle can produce other dust particles, but requires resources to do so. So at first you mine tiny asteroids in the belt of some floating planet in the dead of space. And you collect resources to build another dust particle. Then you the player, now becomes 2 metallic dust particles. Then you mine asteroids faster due to more miners, thus you collect resources faster, and thus you reproduce faster. Eventually you become this massive but in comparison to the smallest of planets, minuscule metallic dust cloud. Consisting of over a thousand dust particles. Eventually you become large enough to take on whole planets, extracting their resources to build more dust particles. Then you become so large, you can finally take on and extract resources from the behemoth structure at the center of the solar system. The Star... By the time you take the whole solar system, your cloud of intelligent metallic dust consists of over a billion. But there are other solar systems out there, hundreds of billions, all orbiting a super massive black hole at the center. And there are hundreds of billions of other galaxies, some twice as large as the one you are in now. But last, there are other metallic dust clouds out there, all competing for dominance over all the universes matter. And if everyone of your metallic dusts get destroyed, your account gets deleted, forever. In this game you could also control the exact location your dust cloud/clouds could go. You dont HAVE to go to asteroids, planets, or stars. You could strategically place clusters of dust in the dead of space. This is my perfect dream virtual world. It would have a pure, simple, and beautiful user interface. The structures such as planets and stars would look gorgeous. And the camera can zoom far away from your dust cloud, all the way across the observable universe. Ok yea, maybe the above is a bit much. Probably wont see something like that for a few years. But my point still stands, there is so much potential this game has, most of which, deals with multiplayer. I also recommend you look at a iphone game called auralux. It is similar to yours, but has some interesting features that allow for greater possible strategies. The main advancement I like in auralux, is that it allows you to control specifically where your units can go. You dont have to go to planets, you can position them in more strategic locations. You can also select the amount you want to control by highlighting which ones you want. Another game i recommend you take a look at, a very new game as well (like made a week ago). Is called planets multiplayer, made by a guy named play zone. The game was programmed by him, and only, him. Maybe you could team up with him to make a better game (my dream game).

Amazing, dazzling, this is in my top 10 mobile games ever!

I played the original solarmax and was very willing to pay cash for the second installment, needs even more levels, larger maps, and new things to use, this game deserves six stars!

Doesnt Work

Just bought the app and all I see is black when I open it.

As good as Auralux!

Why arent there more of these games out there? Seems like all strategy games require you to spend a considerable amount of time studying the 317 weapons, 54 resources, 937 upgrades and 623 building types you can use... Who has the time??? This game is awesome because it only takes you 1 minute to learn how to play it, but it still challenges you afterwards....

Amazing game!

I was looking for one of these types of strategy games. Just the simple moving forces. And this game is all of that and more. It actually has plot twists and difficulty settings and 36 levels. Which leads me to my only complaint: not enough levels! Someone like me is able to finish all the levels on hard mode after a few weeks of having the app, and now theres nothing left to do on it. Other than that, buy this! Its awesome!

Lovely game, could be so much bigger

Love this game. Make it bigger. Make it harder. Make it longer. I can beat the last level on hard in less than 40 seconds.

Awesome game, would live to see updates.

Ill start with the cons. Its the shorter list. 1. The final level is not the exercise in futility I was expecting. In fact, it can be beaten in under a minute on hard. Make it harder! 2. Limited replay value. Ive beaten the game on medium, and most levels on hard (34 will be the most interesting), so what now? Level packs would be awesome, and I would pay money for them. That said, this game was worth the money. Creative levels require a strategic mindset, particularly on the later levels. Level progression is logical. The AI is the most annoying thing to cope with on hard (this is a pro). Very good graphics and music. Overall a phenomenal game!

Amazing!!!

I love this game. Its easy to learn, simple interface, yet challenging and just so much fun. Please add more levels or make solarmax3!!!

Well Done! Please Make More!

Seconding everything in Da Kyesters review. This app is extremely entertaining and Im still enjoying it months after finishing the final level on hard mode. Buy the game its awesome and Dev pls release more levels or a whole new game!

Awaiting SolarMax3!

A jewel of a game. Animation, music, gameplay all top notch for an iPhone game. Wish there was more upgrades, levels, in-app purchases perhaps ;) great dev job guys!

Love this game

I love these types of games, and wish there were more, or a better way to search for them. Beautiful and fun. Nice job.

Awesome game

Ill start with the bad things about this game. Although the game is very challenging, I feel like there should be more levels. I beat all the levels on hard in less then 24 hours. Also it would be cool to add an even harder difficulty setting. Id love to see some map pack DLCs for this game! Although the game is a bit short, other then that its an amazing game! Its simple, its fun, it has amazing graphics and music, and it requires you to be strategic. I would recommend this to everyone!
